Shehu of Borno, Abubakar El-Kanemi said, Boko Haram terrorists came to North East to learn Quoran with their ideology unknown to us.
The Paramount ruler spoke at a town hall meeting which held in Abuja recently, saying that terrorists ideology was largely responsible for insecurity bedeviling the Northeast.
The Shehu of Borno said, “Boko Haram (BH) terrorists came to Borno state and the North-East in disguise of learning Quranic education and many people never knew they had another ideology.”
He said, they succeeded in polluting the minds of Youths with their ideology, from where they began to unleash terror on citizens.
El-Kanemi ruled out the notion widely held by people that Boko Haram was initiated in Borno or any north east zone.
“Their activities of showing disrespect to others, burning and destroying properties are not instructions from the Quran or the Bible.”
