Chatham House Red Line: Why I marvel at Reno’s ‘chuchuchachas’

There is a red line that you dont cross. Don’t entertain it when anyone tries to cross the red line with you. Be quick to read out the riot act. Don’t take prisoners. Reno had no business to visit Chatham house, London yesterday. What was he trying to prove? Was he trying to impress his Principal. I doubt it very much that his principal, Alhaji Atiku sent him on such an errand. I believe it is another case of a supporter of a presidential candidate taking things too far and getting carried away. The truth be said some of the despicable actions of some politicians followers are not approved by their principal. Such obnoxious act tends to rub off negatively on their principal and by extension their political party or the organisation they represent.

Change of Name

There’s an age a man gets to in life, you expect him to be reserved and behave himself in a dignified manner. When you’re a small boy you do what small boy’s do. When you’re a grown up you should behave like a grown up. I have noticed over the years that reverse is the case with some people. I don’t know what is responsible for such irregular behaviour and misconduct. Perhaps, some are late starters. For example when I see the energy and time some people invest in unnecessary chuchuchachas, I marvel at such childish behaviour.

I visited Chatham house yesterday. The post Chatham house event, an exclusive session for few persons. It was a good interactive session with the APC presidential candidate and his team. The drama that took place outside Chatham house is uncalled for. Reno crossed the red line. Reno presents as a dude who is desperate for fame. A man who will do everything and anything for fame to make newspapers headlines. What he failed to realise is that the UK Metropolitan police tolerance threshold for foolishness is low. Reno should quickly learn to play things down. The quest for fame can destroy a man. The birth of multiple social media plarforms has contributed immensely to the quest for pseudo fame.

PDP should call Reno to order. He is becoming a political liabilty. A drama king. You don’t go to a man’s front door to start trouble. To wind a man up in his terrain is you clearly asking for it. This is what Reno did yesterday. Chatham house was for Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his people yesterday. It was a bad outing for Reno and PDP yesterday.

Their plan backfired. Talking about a bad outing, it was also a bad outing for APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I struggle to understand the political gain of yesterday’s outing. It was not necessary. Made worse by Bola Ahmed Tinubu handling of the question time session. It was a disastrous outing.

It was not well managed at all. APC presidential candidate should have answered the questions directed at him. Not his team members. We know when the principle of delegation of authority is necessary. Certainly not in this case.

To divert questions directed at you is tantamount to an evasion tactics. Perhaps, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is right when he told the audience during the interactive session that he didn’t want to attend Chatham house. His premonition spoke to him. If only he listened. Bola Ahmed Tinubu stated that he can be a stubborn man, those who know him can testify to this. He further stated that he’s a team player. When some of his team members muted the idea of him visiting Chatham house, he didn’t see the relevance.

He stated that being a team player that he is he reluctantly gave in to what he considered to be a superior argument by some members of his team. Commend his team player spirit. Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not infallible, who is? There’s no perfection in humanity. All the presidential candidates will goof at some point. My style of politics is to say the truth. To say it as it is. I flatter no man. This is how we learn. Irrespective of who is involved. May what happened to the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Chatham house never happen again. My final words and counsel for Reno is that he should grow up. He has a lot of growing up to do.
