2023: PDP governorship candidate, Mustapha Lamido vows to declare state of emergency on youth unemployment in Jigawa

Dr Mustapha Sule Lamido has vowed to declare state of emergency on unemployment for the teeming youth population in Jigawa State, if elected governor in 2023.

The Jigawa State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Standard bearer stated this on Tuesday in Dutse, Jigawa State capital at the official flag off of the PDP campaign, saying that he will embark on wealth creation for the youth population to be gainfully employed and engaged in the State.

Change of Name

Speaking at the presentation of flags to party candidates for the 2023 general election on Tuesday, Lamido JNR said he will address the issue of unemployment bedeviling the state through wealth creation and employment generation.

The San Turaki Dutse added that “I’m disturbed on the number of unemployed youths idling away in the State.

According to the Standard bearer, the unity of the state remains among his top priorities, stressing that, ‘we will also ensure that the annual flood ravaging the state will be a thing of the past if elected.”

He pointed out that Education and Health will also receive greater attention. The PDP North West vice Chairman, Senator Bello Hayatu Gwarzo presented party flags to the three Senatorial candidates which includes former Jigawa State Governor Saminu Ibrahim Turaki, party flags were also presented to the eleven House of Representatives candidates.

The National PDP Youth leader Muhammad Suleiman Kadade presented party flags to the thirty House of Assembly candidates.

The campaign flag off attracted mamooth crowd of party supporters, well-wishers and admirers drawn from across the 27 Local government Areas of the State. Food vendors, assorted drinks sellers and satchet water sellers made brisk business.

CAPITAL POST recalled that the governorship candidate had in recent weeks at different fora raised other critical issues of infrastructure and agriculture to be addressed by his government, while he called on the people to vote for him.
