Kaduna 2023: I will continue from where El – Rufai stopped – Uba Sani
The All Progressives Congress (APC) 2023 governorship candidate in Kaduna State who is also the senator representing Kaduna central at the National Assembly, Senator Uba Sani, has said that when elected as governor of Kaduna state, he will continue from where governor Nasir El-rufai stopped. Uba Sani made this revelation during an interactive session with journalists on Saturday at a media parley organized by the Kaduna State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
The lawmaker stated that governor El-Rufai has made unprecedented achievement in Kaduna state and he intends to build on those accomplishments. He described El – Rufai as a detribalized and selfless leader who dedicated himself to better the lives of the people and make Kaduna state a better place for all. He said the rare leadership qualities displayed by El – Rufai should be emulated.
Uba Sani went on to state that the El – Rufai administration has done so much from its inception in 2015 that all sectors has been positively touched. He cited an example that the rehabilitation of dilapidated primary and secondary schools in the state as well as the abolition of school fees has led to an increase in pupils’ enrolment.
Speaking on the retrenchment of teachers, Uba Sani said that the reality was that the Kaduna State government has employed more teachers in primary and secondary schools than the ones sacked. He said only unqualified teachers were sacked and the reason for the exercise was to enhance the quality of education. He said that posterity will celebrate El-Rufai for sanitizing not just the education sector, but other sectors as well.
On the issue of insecurity, Uba Sani advocated for the creation of state police and called for permission to be granted to vigilante groups to enable them to carry arms as a measure of complementing the efforts being made by security agencies. He emphasized that this would go a long way to effectively combat insecurity. He promised that when elected as governor, the security of lives and properties of the people will be paramount on his agenda.
The governorship hopeful promised to run a government with an open door policy so that every section of the society will have the opportunity partake in government. He cited that the importance of an open door policy cannot be over emphasized, and he will ensure that administration stays on that path.
Senator Uba Sani called on journalists whom he describes as partners in progress to ensure that they make objective evaluation of candidates running for various offices in the 2023 election as many of them were out to enrich themselves rather than to serve the people. He said that way journalists would be able to help the electorates to make informed decisions on whom to vote for and on whom not to vote for.
