Bandits attack: Imam, worshippers shot in Katsina mosque

Bandits have launched a fresh attack on a mosque in Maigamji village along Funtua-Dandume road, Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The criminals stormed the mosque during a Isha’i prayer on Saturday December 3, 2022 and fired shots on Imam and two other worshippers, an eye witness told newsmen.

Also an ex-Councillor of Maigamji ward in Funtua LGA of Katsina, Alhaji Lawal Maigamji confirmed to journalists that the victims are currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in Funtua.

Maigamji explained that terrorists surrounded the mosque during the prayer and started shooting.

“Imam Yusha’u and Hussaini Jamo, were shot and 18 worshippers abducted.”

“While the abductees were being taken away, four of them escaped.”
