2023: Ex-House Speaker, Dogara appointed into PDP presidential campaign council

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara has been appointed a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign council.

The appointment was announced on Sunday by the Director General of the PDP PCC and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal.

The appointment was at the backdrop of Dogara’s re-entrance into PDP having crashed out of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Dogara had been a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, from where he rose to become Speaker before he joined the APC.

The former Speaker and other Northern Christian leaders in his camp rejected a one way traffic Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket of the APC.

Operating under the umbrella of
the Northern Leaders Consultative Forum, Dogara formally declared support for the presidential candidate of PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on Friday in Abuja.
