2023: Stop wasting money on Rivers APC governorship candidate, he’ll not win – Wike to Yahaya Bello
Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike on Saturday advised his Kogi State counterpart, Yahaya Bello not to waste money sponsoring Rivers APC governorship candidate for the 2023 election, saying that he will not win.
Wike who is of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said he has anointed his successor and anyone on another political platform is not worth to spend money on him, insisting that in Rivers, PDP governorship candidate will win in 2023 election.
Speaking at the 2022 Rivers State Honours and Awards, the governor who is serving out his second tenure of office stressed that no other political parties can defeat the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State because he will fully throw his weight behind PDP in Rivers.
Similarly, Wike urged Ebonyi State governor to stop disturbing himself sponsoring any governorship candidate, noting that Mr. Siminalayi Fubara is his successor, insisting that APC governorship candidate in Rivers will fail woefully.
Wike said, “I want to recognize my successor, in my state we already know who will be my successor. Forget all this they are doing. I want to advise you if you are spending money on anyone stop. Here, we already have a successor and it’s not by my power.
“Don’t bother bringing anybody because nobody will win here. My successor, Siminalayi Fubara is here and so is his deputy. You don’t need to like what I am saying, but he will succeed me. I have told Dave Umahi and I have told the Governor of Kogi. River state is a no-go area for any other candidate.”
