Former Minister of Steel in the late President Shehu Shagari administration, Wantaregh Paul Unongo, is dead.
He died at a hospital in Jos on Tuesday after an undiscclosed illness.
Unongo, an elderstatesman hailed from Benue State, but has been living in Jos all through his life.
The late politician was also a former Chairman of the Northern Elders Forum, NEF, and has been battling with ill-health lately.
The late Unongo was born on September 26, 1935 and belonged to the Kwaghngise-Anure-Abera ancestry in Turan of Kwande Local Government Area in Benue in the North Central Nigeria..
