El-Surur emerges NBA Chairman, Minna branch

Barrister Mohammed Abubakar El-Surur has emerged Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Minna branch.

He will lead the eight man Executive Committee to pilot the leadership of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Minna branch for the next two years.

The election was peacefully conducted at Minna High Court complex on Friday.

Those elected alongside El-Surur are: Anwara Clinton Vice Chairman, Mohammed Sagir Abdul-aziz, Secretary, and Abah A. Onyeke as Assistant Secretary. Others include Mohammed S. Chado, Publicity Secretary, Buhari A. Bujari, Financial Secretary, while Mohammed Baba B. Shehu was elected Treasurer.

The post of Legal Adviser, Welfare Secretary and Provost went to Shehu Usman, Zubairu Shehu and Ekeh Jeremiah respectively.

Speaking shortly after the conduct of the election, Chairman of the electoral Committee, Barrister Jacob Ndakolo Yisapati commended the members for exhibiting high sense of decorum during the election.

He described the election as peaceful and rancour free of the branch in recent time.

Also speaking, the newly elected Chairman of NBA, Mohammed Abubakar El-Surur appreciated the members for giving him their mandate, while assuring them of his preparedness to run an all inclusive leadership that every member will contribute meaningful suggestions that will move the branch forward.

He appealed to members of the branch to join hands with him towards achieving the desired goal of building a virile branch of the Bar that will be worthy of emulation by other branches in the country.
