The governorship candidate of People’s Redemption Party (PRP) for Kaduna state, Hayatudeen Lawal has promised to restore the state to its former glory if elected into office as governor in 2023. Makarfi made this pledge while unveiling his three point agenda at a media parley organized by the Kaduna State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

The governorship hopeful said that he decided to throw his hat into the race because he want to provide a purpose driven leadership that will take the state to greater heights. He said that this objective is achievable through his three point agenda, which includes; economy, human capital development and social justice. Lawal emphasized that his program are well planned and targeted to salvage Kaduna state out of its present social and economic predicament.
Hayatudee Lawal who was a former special assistant to the Kaduna state governor Mallam Nasiru El- Rufai lamented that the failure of leadership has brought the state to its present unenviable in the status. He said that if given the mandate, his administration will sustain the legacy of late Balarabe Musa whose government focused primarily on the wellbeing of Kaduna state and its people.

Change of Name

According to Makarfi, his administration will create an enabling environment and encourage young people to build enterprises around their talents and skills. This way, Kaduna state will be transformed from a consumer to a production economy. He also pointed out that he will take advantage of the current crisis in Europe to attract investors to the state.

Hayatudeen Lawal promised that when elected as governor; he will form a unity government that will bring members of other political parties on board, so as to give everyone a sense of belonging. The aspirant pointed out the need to unify the state at this point cannot be overemphasized. He called on journalists to help in educating electorates to vote for credible, patriotic and transparent candidates come 2023.
