Jigawa PDP governorship candidate, Lamido vows to declare state of emergency on unemployment if elected
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for 2023 elections for Jigawa State, Dr Mustapha Lamido said, he will declare state of emergency on unemployment if voted as governor.
As part of steps to address unemployment, he said, his government will reactivate the Dutse International Airport to create job opportunities for teeming unemployed youth and to also improve the internally generated revenue for the state.
Addressing the support groups in Dutse on Wednesday, he expressed his readiness to rejig the education sector by setting up ‘Jigawa State Education Development Fund’ to be managed independently in order to cater and properly develop education sector.
Describing himself as the bridge between youth and elders, Mustapha Lamido said, his government will reserve 35% of its appointments for youth and women.
Speaking on the shortage of Medical Doctors in government hospitals in the state, he promised to build a Medical College at the State Sule Lamido University in Kafin Hausa to bridge the gap in the health sector.
Mustapha Lamido assured of readiness to tackle all the problems militating against women development head and therefore urged women and youth to redouble their political enlightenment campaign effort as the campaign has commenced in earnest.

Sani Abubakar, Director, Volunteer Groups, Alh. Kabiru Dare, State PDP Youth Leader, Haj. Balaraba Abdullahi, Assistant Director, Women Affairs and representatives of the support groups.
