Kaduna 2023: Hashiru unveils five point agenda

Alhaji Isa Hashiru Kudan, the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State has given the assurance that when elected in 2023, his administration will transform the state and give its people a new lease of life. Hashiru made this promise during the maiden media chat organized by the Kaduna State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ).
During the occasion, the governorship candidate unveiled a five point agenda that will propel his administration when elected in 2023. The agenda includes: security, agriculture, women and youth empowerment, education and health.
Speaking on security, Hashiru noted with great concerned the serious security challenge that has caused unprecedented hardship to the people Kaduna state. He vowed to bring the situation to an end as soon he assumes office as governor.
On agriculture, the governorship candidate promised to encourage growth in the sector by providing farmers with the necessary support that will enhance productivity. He promised to revive agricultural agencies and attract grants that will enhance and promote the sector.
Speaking on the moribund textile industries in Kaduna State, the PDP governorship candidate promised to create the enabling environment that will revive the ailing sector. He said deliberate effort is being made towards transferring 30 megawatts of electricity from Gurara water fall to Kudenda industrial area in Kaduna. Out of this, 20 megawatts will be retained in Kaduna, while 10 megawatts will go to the southern parts of the country.
Speaking further, Alhaji Ashiru said that, “when elected as governor, I will do everything humanly possible to ensure that the past glory of Kaduna as an industrial hub is restored. I will ensure that skilled based education is encouraged. This will promote entrepreneurship among our youths. Women will also be empowered through several initiatives that I will introduce. As a matter of fact, I will transform Kaduna State when given the mandate”.
Earlier in her welcome address, the chairman of the Kaduna State Council of the NUJ, Hajia Asma’o Halilu promised that a level playing field will be provided for all candidates vying for various elective offices in the state. She assured the PDP governorship campaign team as well as all other candidates and their teams that the state chapter of the NUJ will partner with them to ensure a better Kaduna state.
