Nnamdi Kanu: Court adjourns case indefinitely
The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has adjourned Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s case indefinitely.
The Judge adjourned the case on Monday, saying it was waiting for the outcome of the appeal currently being looked into by the Supreme Court.
No date has been fixed for mentioning.
Kanu, who is the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra is facing terrorism charges.
The charge was delivered in favour of Kanu, at the Court of Appeal, but the Federal government appealed the judgement at the Supreme Court on 13 October, 2022
Justice Binta Nyako, on Monday agreed with Kanu’s legal team that it lacks the jurisdiction to hear any further charge against the IPOB leader, considering the Court of Appeal’s verdict which discharged him recently.
Reacting to the development via his verified Facebook, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, one of Kanu’s lawyers wrote: “We are winning! Supreme Court here we come!
“No going back on Onyedu’s freedom.
“Our appeal to set aside the order staying the execution of Onyendu’s judgment will be fixed for hearing any moment from now.
“We shall keep you all posted.
