Plateau APC warns public against fake Tinubu grant
The All Progressives Congress, APC Plateau State Chapter has warned its members and the electorate against fake Tinubu grants which has the dubious plans of cheating the public.
The APC State Publicity Secretary, Hon.
Hon. Sylvanus Namang in a press statement issued on Saturday in Jos, said, the State APC Secretariat has in recent times been inundated with calls, complaints and inquiries of a purported grant from their most respected presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to him, the complainants said the promised grants range from N10, 000 to N20,000 which they are expected to fill forms on line with some being physically distributed hard copies to fill under the guise of support groups, saying in return, they are expected to give details about themselves including their polling units and PVC nos.
“The APC in Plateau state hereby warns all its unsuspecting members and the electorate in the state that there is nothing like that and the party strongly dissociates itself from this nefarious act.
“This is clearly the handiwork of some fortune seekers and ponzi merchants who want to capitalise on the philanthropy and benevolence of our presidential candidate.
“For the avoidance of doubt, our presidential candidate has well spelt out programmes for the less privileged as enunciated in his well laid out 80-page manifesto which would come into effect after his swearing in by God’s grace from 29th May, 2023.
Namang said the present APC-led government has a cash transfer programme for this category on Nigerians which is done after meticulous capturing and documentation.
“Those engage in the reported deceptive project of hoodwinking our members are enemies of the party. They are hereby warned as the long arms of the law would soon catch up with them and would be exposed as they are scammers who want to feed fat on our party.
The APC however advise the electorate that under no circumstances should anyone for any reason give details of his permanent voter’s card, PVC or his polling unit to anyone as such is domiciled only in INEC on election day.
“Those who might have given out their PVCs which are their only power to exercise their franchise are strongly advised to collect them back.
He said APC is a party which strongly believes in rules and regulations guiding electoral and democratic journey and as such, saying the APC would not be a party to cutting corners.
