Promote Jukun culture, governor Ishaku tasks new monarch

Governor Darius Ishaku has tasked the newly installed paramount ruler of Jukun people in Taraba State, Aku Uka Manu Ishaku Ada Ali to promote cultural activities of the people to preserve their heritage that is going into extinction.

The governor made the call on Saturday while presenting a staff of office to the Aku Uka in Wukari, saying that the traditional rites that followed the emergence of Aku Uka Manu Ishaku Adda Ali exposed the rich culture of the Jukun people that got the attention of the International Community.

Change of Name

Governor Darius Ishaku appreciated the two ruling houses for the show of unity during the contest which deserved emulation from other traditional institutions within and outside the State.

The Governor tasked the new Aku Uka who is the Chairman of Taraba State Council of Chiefs to caution village and districts heads to stay clear of partisan politics.

He charged the monarch to play active role in the security of lives and property of his subjects.

Commenting, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma charged traditional leaders to rally round their subjects to carry arms against foreign invaders who are now terrorism lives and property of innocent Nigerians.

The Retired General said Nigerians need to defend themselves by all means before criminal elements take over the country and their ancestral homes.

He emphasized that the present security challenges facing the country will not come to an end except nigerians rise up to the responsibility.

General Danjuma, regretted the way and manner the military authority took his earlier warning when he drew the attention that bandits are planning to take over the most populous black nation in the world which are now glaring facts.

In his Goodwill message,Sultan of Sokoto Sa’ad Abubakar assured the new Aku Uka of all traditional rulers full support to enable him succeed.

He advised youths to work closely with the Aku Uku to entrench peace and stop been used as tools in the hands of politicians.

In his vote of thanks,the Aku Uka Manu Ishaku Adda Ali thanked Governor Darius Ishaku for ensuring that the laid down rules was observed to the later during his appointment without interference.

He thanked General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma Retired,Governor of Plateau State Simon Lalong, Royal Fathers, Politicians and other guest that attended the ceremony.

His Majesty Manu Ishaku Adda Ali is the twenty fifth Aku Uka with the title Amatakitswen.
