Proposed strike: Parliamentary staff complies with Court order, suspends action

The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria PASAN, National Assembly and National Assembly Service Commission, NASC chapters has suspended its proposed strike scheduled to start after Thursday, October 20, 2022.

In a resolution signed by the Secretary- General, Comrade Awobifa I. Hameed stated that the joint resolutions by the National Assembly and National Assembly Service Commission over continuous agitations for their allowances and proposed strike has been suspended as a result of court action instituted by the National Assembly Service Commission at the industrial court, Abuja division.

Change of Name

The case was already adjourned till October 25, 2022 for hearing and pending motion on notice at the industrial court, Abuja division.

By this development, the secretary general said all actions relating to the proposed strike scheduled to start on Thursday, October 20 has been suspended as the National Assembly and National Assembly Service Commission staffers are advised to comply immediately.

“The case has been adjourned to October 25, 2022 for hearing of the pending motion on notice at the National industrial court, Abuja.”

“In view of the above, the NASS and NASC chapters are hereby directed to stay action on the proposed industrial action which was to resume after Thursday, October 20, 2022.”
