President Buhari appoints Bupwatda as CMD JUTH
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr Pokop Bupwatda as the Chief Medical Director, University of Jos Teaching Hospital (JUTH).
The appointment is to take effect from 30th August 2022, with an initial tenure of four years.
The appointment was conveyed in a letter issued on Wednesday and signed by the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire at the Federal Ministry of Health Headquarters in Abuja.
Recall that Bupwatda was announced as the acting CMD of JUTH following the expiration of eight year tenure of the former CMD, Prof Edward Banwat, in December, 2021.
In his congratulatory message, the Minister charged the newly appointed CMD to strive to add value to the facility.
He said “Health sector is a key sector of the economy; you should strive to improve on the health facility in your domain. Take more responsibility to improve the economy and the condition of the teaching hospital”.
Responding, Dr Pokop Bupwatda expressed appreciation to the President Muhammadu led administration for the appointment. He assured that he will not disappoint the President and Minister of health.
CAPITAL POST gathered that, Acting Director hospital services, Dr Bola Alonge, Director Teaching Hospitals, Dr Andrew Noah, Special Assistant to the minister, Dr Dabra Emuran among others, were there to witness the presentation of the appointment letter.
