2023: Group outlines governor Sule’s achievements, canvasses for his re-election

As 2023 general election draw close, various groups in Nasarawa state are daily canvassing support for governor Abdullahi Sule’s re-election.

A political group operating under the aegis of ‘Abdullahi Sule Youth Ambassador (ASYA)’, on Saturday backed the re-election of the governor in 2023.

Change of Name

The group acknowledged that the administration of Abdullahi Sule in the last 3years has recorded tremendous achievements economically and socially based on assessment” He deserved nothing less than retuned ticket to government house Lafia.

Spokesperson of the group, Comrade Mohammed Usman made this known at a press briefing in Lafia, saying that the group is the largest youth movement in Nasarawa State with it’s presence in all the 13 Local Government Councils.

Comrade Usman affirmed their unflinching support for justice, peaceful coexistence, good governance, rule of law and struggle which Sule represents, hence, he would be re-elected.

“Its not long a news that governor Abdullahi Sule is a man of God as well as Engineer of modern Nasarawa State for his resilience in provisions of infrastructure in the State.

He outlined some achievements by Sule’s administration to include renovation of the primary and secondary schools within the state, construction of blocks of schools in Akwanga, Awe and Wamba and Lafia Local Government Areas of the State, adding that the construction of Wing Commander Abdullahi Ibrahim Vocational and Technical Institute in Lafia is another plus.

He further explained that the accreditation of all courses in the State owned Dr. Isa Mustapha Agwai 1 Polytechnic Lafia, IMAPL, has given, Governor Sule an added advantage ahead of all other candidates seeking for the number one job.

“Since the establishment of this institution students who graduated never have access to the 1 year mandatory service to their fatherland because courses were not accredited by NBTE, but now they have access like their other colleagues in the country.

“That is not all when Governor Sule came on board, there were backlog of students bursary allowances which were not paid for some years and he directed the immediate payment which was done.

Usman pointed out that there have been training and retraining of teachers of both Primary and Secondary Schools by the State government.

Speaking on road infrastructure embarked by the State governor, he said:
“On road construction, Governor Sule in his determination to provide access roads network to link rural and urban cities has constructed over 966km roads across the state which include, Mararaban Arah road in Nasarawa,
Construction of Rinze-Mintibi Madaki road in Akwanga shabu-Doka-Arugba -Lakio road,
Agwade-Ashupe-Atabula-Obi road.

“Others are Kagbu A- Atsako-Wana road.
Mararaban Udege- Udege Mbeki road.
Sisin Baki – Farin ruwa road
Construction of Kofan Mada road in Keffi
Construction Kofar Gwari road road in Kokona, construction of Andaha to Rinze road in Akwanga.

“Construction kanje toAbuni road
Construction of Ribi to Jangwa road in Awe, construction of Obi to Assakio road
Ashige, Alawagana, Gidan Buba, and Fadaman bauna road in Lafia.

Doma to burunburu, aloshi, Awayi to Akpata in Akwanga, Garakuto dari, Takalafia in Karu, Nagari farm to Nike and Soba Bridge in Keffi.Construction of Abuja street, Almakura street and Shinge road in Lafia.

Contruction of layin Makabarta through Shalele mosque to government House.
Construction of Andau Bridge in Keffi.

Gudi Moroa road, Idadu Agashi road as well as Kwandere to keffi road
Construction of road leading ministry of justice –GRA – Shendam road lafia.
Construction of Amba-Dari-Angwa Dariya, Angoro to Bassa community in Kokona LG is under way.

The confirmation and appointment of thousands of teachers in secondary schools and the massive appointments of both teaching and non teaching staff into Nasarawa State owned tertiary institutions which the state has never witnessed in recent times is a welcome development.

In health sector, the group maintained: “Governor Abdullahi Sule has showed commitment towards achieving sound healthcare service delivery through provisions of free medical outreach within the state as well as procurement of hospital equipment to Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital.

“Construction of Infectious Disease Diagnostic centre in Lafia.

On Security, they said: “Donation of five hilux vehicles and twenty five motorcycles to security outfits.

Donation of of vehicles to vigilantes.
Donation of vehicles to local chief among others for security purposes.

Construction of Lafia and Karu mega bus terminal, Constrution of Akwanga, Keffi, Nasarawa and Nasarawa Eggon Market
Construction of Akurba power sub station.

Equipping and expansion of Lafia Cargo Airport. Construction of Keffi Square.
Release of funds for State and Local Government gratuities. Renovation of Nsarawa State House of Assembly and construction of court rooms.
