Nasarawa gov’t procures hospital equipment worth N200 million

Nasarawa State government in its desire to improve healthcare service delivery to the people of the state have procured hospital equipment worth N200 million ( Two Hundred Million Naira) to Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, DASH, Lafia.

Our Correspondent reports that the equipment will go along way in enhancing the healthcare services in the hospital.

In an interview shortly, after inspecting the equipment, the State Deputy governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe stated that the hospital equipment were procured considering the need to boost health care delivery in the state owned hospital.

He explained that government was moved by the obsolete nature of some of the equipment currently in use at the DASH Lafia.

“The decision of the procurement was as a result of request by management of the hospital for the need to have more equipment to replace the absolete ones in the hospital.

The number two citizen in the State promised that more of such equipment will be provided to other hospital in no distance time, just as he reaffirmed government’s commitment to improve the healthcare system in the state.

While the deputy governor, Dr. Akabe was being conducted round to inspect the equipment, the Chief Medical Director of the DASH, Dr. Ikrama Hassan confirmed that all departments in the hospital will benefit.

“Your Excellency, this procurement will definitely boost our service delivery in the hospital.

Dr. Hassan commended the State governor, Engr Abdullahi Sule for the approval as well as release of funds for purchase of the equipment.
