Northern elders forum predicts Tinubu as winner of 2023 presidential election
Ahead of the 2023 general electionS, some elders of the northern extraction operating under the aegis of “100% Focus Movement”, Thursday, predicted the winner of the president among the three frontline contenders.
The forum urged the Southerners to vote for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, saying he will win the election.
Leader of the forum, Ibrahim Mohammed said, Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s good deeds in the South West and other Southern States should be reciprocated by voting him in the presidential election.
As a pro-Tinubu Northern Coalition, the South does not have a choice, but to vote for Tinubu and he should be voted.
“We don’t have anything to say to the south-west to vote for Asiwaju. It is not an option for them, they need to [vote him] because he has given back to them. It is the only way to say thank you. So I don’t have to go and convince the south-west, even the south entirely.
He allayed fears at the beliefs of the northerners who he said, are thinking that power should return to the zone, stressing that it’s a huge challenge confronting them.
The forum who believes that there are only north and South politically, insisted that the next president should come from the South.
Speaking earlier, Labib Mahmood, a coordinator in the group, said Tinubu has the experience to tackle the challenges confronting the country.
“We have seen a leader (Tinubu) who has had organic growth. He was a senator, became a governor, became a regional leader and national leader within 20 years,” Mahmood said.
“He has had enough experience to tackle complexities and difficulties of our beloved country and that is why we are focusing 100 percent on Jagaban. His style of leadership has shown that quality representation.
“Whatever he does, he doesn’t get the credit alone – he was able to push his commissioners to other states to become governors. He has shown committed leadership and good governance.”
