Late Aminu Kano’s ideals is solution to nation’s socio-political challenges – Hon. Charles
As Nigeria celebrates 62nd independence anniversary on 1st October, the founder of New Nigeria Movement, (NNM), Honourable Samson Uchenna Charles has advocated that the political ideals of late Mallam Aminu Kano must be imbibed if the nation’s socio-political challenges must be solved
He said the late national leader believed in togetherness, unity and oneness where justice, equity and fairness
Hon. Charles made this known on Monday during the maiden edition of Mallam Aminu Kano Lecture and award ceremony held at Merit House, Maitama Abuja.
He said, the only way a new Nigeria would be possible is when the current and upcoming politicians in the country will reverse back to Aminu Kano”s virtues patriotic nationalist who all through his life time preferred the interest of the nation above his.
“A new Nigeria is very possible, but first, we must realize that Nigeria first before our personal interests. That was a virtue that distinguished this political Icon (Aminu Kano) we now celebrate.
“Well, for us at New Nigeria Movement we are ready to carry out the advocacy door to door to make sure we educate Nigerians on the possible ways to live among ourselves in peace, unity and with love of one another. That is exactly what the late Political Icon lived and preach untill his death and that is the only way to go for this nation if we must reclaim our lost glory, “he said.
However, Hon. Charles lamented the level of decay in Nigeria political land scale, saying that Nigerian politicians have deviated from the purposeful ideals for which the promised to salvage the country but have drifted from rescuing the people and country, and are more concentrated on selfishness mission to plunder the nation.
Meanwhile, he pledged that his foundation will collaborate with the organisers of the event, Coalition of Northern Progressive Movement with membership in 19 Northern States and FCT, in conjunction with, Nigerian Women of Integrity (An NGO) for subsequent editions of the Aminu Kano Lecture and Awards ceremony.
