The Commandant Peace corps of Nigeria (PCN) Niger State Command Patriot Silas Babayi Yissa has admonished Nigerians to always embrace peace and dialogue as a means of resolving any conflicts.
He noted that no meaningful development will be achieved in an environment riddle with crisis stressing the need for all Nigerians regardless of tribes, ethnics and religious inclinations to always leave in peace among themselves in the over all interest of the country.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with CAPITAL POST in Minna to mark the 62 independence of Nigeria Monday, Patriot Silas Yissa stated that the oneness and unity of the country should not be undermined, insisting that Nigerians at all levels should cultivate the spirit of togetherness for the speedy development and unity of the country.
According to the State commandant of PCN, the peaceful and harmonious relationship with one another as a nation should be seen as the will of God, adding that, “we should continue to leave together to build one and virile country that will be a pride of the future generations of the country.
“We need each other as one united entity. We need one another as a nation. God that created us as a nation know his reasons of creating us.
“God did not make a mistake by creating us as an Igbo man or as an Hausa man and a Yoruba man. God did not make a mistake to create you as a Christian and created you as a Muslim.
“He has his reasons for creating us as Nigerians for us to leave as one regardless of our tribes and our religion.
“For goodness sake why all these hatred; why all these acrimony. Why all these unpleasant attacks on ourselves.
“We need each other as one indivisible people with one entity as a nation. We should continue to tolerate ourselves to move this great country forward” he appealed.
Speaking further, the Commandant stated that Nigeria as a country has recorded tremendous achievements in every facets of her development in the last 62 years as a nation, “more of such development will be recorded if we continue to see ourselves as one irrespective of where you come from.”
