Zamfara State governor, Alhaji Bello Mohammed Matawalle has disclosed that the rampaging bandits in the State are afraid of Zamfara State Volunteer Guards.
He made the disclosure during an interactive session with popular Nigerian journalist and award-winning T.V anchor, Babajide Otitoju on insecurity in the state.
According to him, bandits are most terrified of the local guards because of the lethal firearm that they carry.
The volunteer group known I. Hausa language as “Yansakai” are allowed to carry sophisticated weapon which its bullet is locally forged called”Wagila”.
He said: “Wagila is a locally fabricated gun and if a bandit is shot, it can shatter that person into multiple pieces and that is why bandits are terrified of the Yansakai vigilante.”
The governor could be seen in a video of about 38:30 minutes ago saying:
“Bandis fear Yansakai, because this Yansakai vigilante group, they use fabricated weapons called Wagila.
“They used to put plug, this motorcycle plug on it, so bandits fear that. Bandits don’t want to hear that, because they know if they are shot, it will cut them into two.
“They say this Yansakai are the most deadly people, they fear them”.
