Proposed ban: Tricycles Union vows to resist, fight FG
The National Vice President of Almagamated Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners Repairs and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Comrade Musa ISYAKU has cautioned the federal government to guide against baning the operation of the association.
He said banning the operation of the Commercial Tricycle Operators will create another security challenges in the country, warning that any move by the federal government to ban the operators will be resisted.
Speaking with journalists in an interview in Minna, Tuesday, the National Vice President noted that the Association has reduced the increasing rate of joblessness among the teaming unemployed youths in the country “and the government is making move to ban the operation of tricycles in the country”
According to him, most of the riders of the Commercial tricycles are all University graduates and graduates of other higher institutions going about without any job adding that “instead of creating job for them, government is contemplating of creating another insecurity.”

The ACOMORAN, he pointed out has contributed and still contributing its quota to the socio economic development of the country
by creating means of livelihood to the teaming unemployed youths and graduates in the country, stressing the need for the authority to complement the Association with soft loans to make purchase of more tricycles for members.
Comrade Musa Isyaku observed with concern the involvement of unregistered operators of tricycles in criminal activities appealing to the relevant security agencies to assist the association in checkmating them so as to bring them to book.
“We are worried with the activities of unregistered members that have infiltrated the registered members of the association.
“They are those giving us bad names. We know our authentic and registered members among us. We are appealing to the security agencies to assist us in bringing them to book’, he asserted.
He admonished members of the association across the country to always guide against any act that will bring the image of the association into disrepute warming that “we will not hesitate to use the sledge hammer on any member that engage in any criminal act.”
He then requested relevant agencies to partner with any genuine member of the association to ensure the collective synergy in bringing any erring member to book, assuring that “no hiding place for criminals in the association.”
