Military arrests terrorists financier trying to withdraw N14 million from Access Bank in Zaria
Two suspected terrorists financier have been nabbed by the troops attached to Operation Hadarin Daji while trying to withdraw the sum of N14 million from Access Bank at PZ branch, Zaria, Kaduna State.
Reports said, one Alhaji Abubakar has been on the wanted list of the military high command for collaborating and financing activities of terrorism.
The security agents have since launched a manhunt for him without his knowing.
This was disclosed by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen Musa Danmadami, on the achievements of the military operations across the country between 8 to 22nd September, 2022.
He revealed that the sum of N14 million was deposited into the account of Alhaji Abubakar who was suspected to be a terrorists’ collaborator.
Meanwhile, the Army revealed that
that the troops of the Hadin Kai operating in the Northeast killed two Boko Haram/ISWAP commanders identified as Abu Asiya and Abu Ubaida at Sheruri and the Parisu general area of Sambisa forest.
The troops were able to neutralize 36 terrorists, 130 civilians were rescued, and 46 suspected terrorists as well as 12 suspected Boko Haram logistics suppliers were arrested.
According to him, items recovered include 21 AK47 rifles, 25 dane guns, 163 rounds of 7.62 mm special, 2 RPG bombs, 10 motorcycles, 10 solar panels, 2 bandoliers, 122 rustled sheep, 28, torch lights, bags of assorted grains, and the sum of N203,125.00.
