Private Guards undergoing training on intelligence gathering in Abuja
Operatives of private security firms are undergoing training on intelligence gathering in Abuja with a view to collaboratively tackle security challenges in the country.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory Command which commenced the training on intelligence gathering over the weekend which was well attended by private security guards said, the training became necessary in view from daunting security challenges in the nation.
Head of Department of Private Guards Company (PGC) of Corps, Deputy Commandant Tijani Usman commended the Commandant General of Corps, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi for packaging a programme that would empower private guards amid security challenges in the country.
He also commended the FCT Commandant, Dr. Peter Maigari for his commitment at ensuring that the FCT Command collaborate with other security agencies to protect the capital city.
According to him, the success of the Corps on the field in Nigeria today was as a result of professionalism, courage and proactive approach by the operatives, which have been the yearnings of the Commandant General.
The Deputy Commandant called on the public to collaborate with security operatives in the area of credible intelligence gathering using private guards, noting that security is a shared responsibility.
He expressed optimism that the training ad retraining would assist private guards to be professional in their approach to security issues, stating the operatives would key into the vision of CG by ensuring that NSCDC are part of history in securing the FCT.
He urged participants to be good ambassadors after their training.
“I want to urge all of you to be good ambassadors and do t allow yourselves to be used, as the training is in the interest of the nation.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, the Executive Director of Operations of Triumph Security Limited, Comrade Awe Babatunde, commended the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps to have shown interest in the training of private security operatives.
