2023: Peter Obi supporters shut Jos in solidarity march
Youths, Women, traders and supporters of Peter Obi Presidential candidacy on Saturday shut down commercial activities in all parts of Jos, the Plateau State capital as various groups known as Coalition for Better and Brighter Nigeria (CBBN) organised a one million-man March to register their support for the Labour party and its candidate, Peter Obi in the State.
Our correspondent reports that all major roads linking Jos were shut down for almost four to five hours causing serious gridlock in the State as a result of over one million March in the State.
The Coalition for Better and Brighter Nigeria comprising people from the North, South, South East, South West, South-South and North Central resolve to vote for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi and his running mate Yusuf Datti-Baba Ahmed come 2023 general election.
The Convener of the Coalition for Better and brighter Nigeria, Prophet Isa El-Buba
said the Mega Rally and One million-man march is the foundation for good governance coming to Nigeria when Peter Obi comes into office in 2023.
El-Buba who is also the President of El-Buba Outreach Ministries in Jos said being a Kanuri man from Borno, he is confident that the Northern states will massively vote for Peter Obi come 2023.
“Enough is Enough, we won’t allow corruption, hunger and insecurity to continue, Peter Obi will wipe away our tears, and Nigerians will defend their votes
El-Buba said that Nigeria is a nation, and argued that Middle Belt is the one holding Nigeria together. “If Muslims come to my house, I give them a mat to pray and if I go to Muslims in their house, they will give me a room to pray my Christian way”.
He said that tomorrow must be decided today, adding that whether Tinubu or Atiku, must be rejected at the polls because people must take their destiny into their own hands and decide their fate.
“Whatever you are doing, live a life of purpose. Your father made a mistake in the past, but you should change from it. As I said, Tinubu or Atiku will fail.
“We must fight the right fight. Death is not a tragedy. . . it is death without purpose. It is not about Peter Obi but it is about vision. Peter Obi is not a Messiah but he can be an instrument. This fight is not about you.
“I rather fight the right course and not get to the end rather than fight the wrong course and get to the end. This is so because God is a God of continuity. Our so-called leaders use religion to divide us, they go to Abuja to deceive us”.
A former Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State, Dr Haruna Dabin, told the congregation that it was time not to talk because the talk was cheap as 2023 was time for action.
Dabin said that Nigerians cannot continue to talk like that over and over again and expect a change, stressing that they will not allow President Muhammadu Buhari to bring another Fulani man to succeed him after his tenure elapses in 2023.
He urged Nigerians not to agree to that awkward agreement and regard APC as dead on arrival, adding that they have to fight when there is no sign of victory.
“In 2023 we will fight and die because it is better that way. Election of 2023 is a do-or-die affair because you either win or lose.”
