The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed the rumour making the rounds that Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal has resigned his position as chairman PDP Governors Forum.

Responding to question from journalists after the party’s 97 National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Thursday, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Olonunagba, said the news is not true.

He said he is in the best position to confirm the development, but as at the time he was addressing the press, there was no such thing.

He said, “It is not trust as at this time. I have no information that he has resign and if he has resign I will be in the best position to know.

“Right now, there are procedure for resignation. When we said the BoT chairman resign, it was communicated and we said it in this communique, so if he has resigned, of course it will be part of here (the communique).

“So those are speculations. Wait until he resigns then we will let you know.”

Hon CID Maduabum, the Director General of PDP governors forum has also issued a statement refuting the news.
