BREAKING: Ex-presidential Amnesty Programme Coordinator, Prof. Dokubo is dead
The former Coordinator of the Niger Delta Presidential Amnesty Programme, Prof. Charles Dokubo is dead.
He died in the early hours of Thursday and a family source said, his remains has been deposited at the mortuary.
“I just got a confirmation now from his cousin. It’s true. His corpse was just deposited at the mortuary. May his departed soul Rest in the bossom of the Lord. There is nothing in this life we dey kill ourselves. All the wealth and professorship gone. All the petitions and charges against him gone. We are all from dust and will go back to dust. As we live…we should NOTE that what will carry us and our names on is the good legacy and kindness to humanity we leave behind.”
The late Amnesty boss was sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari over flood of petitions against him by the Niger Delta stakeholders, while in office.
Buhari thereafter directed the National Security Adviser, (NSA) to set up
a Caretaker Committee to look into the activities of the programme.
“Part of the Committee’s task is to ensure that allocated resources are properly utilized in consonance with the government’s objective of alleviating problems in the Niger Delta region and stamping out corruption in the Amnesty Programme.
