Unknown gunmen kidnap two APC chieftains in Imo
Unknown gunmen reportedly abducted two senior members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Okigwe, Imo State, thereby causing panic in part of the State.
An eye witness said, the gunmen wielding dangerous weapons shot sporadically into the air to scare people before they carried their dastardly act.
While shooting, three persons were said to have been killed, including a mechanic identified as Valentine Enwerem from Okigwe Local Government Council of the State, a driver to one of the abducted victim and one other person.
On Saturday, August 20, gunmen took over the Amaraku-Orji portion of the newly rehabilitated Owerri-Okigwe road and operated for many hours without security agents confronting them.
A popular pool owner and the proprietor of Diamond Pools,.Mr Aloy Onuekwusi was among the abductees.
Their operation for hours led to gridlock which made motorists to make detours to avoid be caught in with the gunmen’s gun fire.
