Mass defection hits APC, other parties in Bauchi as PDP promise equal opportunity

The Peoples Democratic Party, Bauchi State Chapter over the weekend received decampees from the All Progressives Party (APC), the New Nigeria Political Party and the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in Kirfi and Alkaleri Local Governments of the State.

Receiving the decampees, governor of Bauchi State Senator Bala Mohammed commended them for their courage, promising that the PDP would integrate and carry them along.

Their defection is coming ahead of the 2023 general election which the governor is contesting for a second term on PDP, while the former Chief of Air Staff, Abubakar Sadique is contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

Bala applauded Faruk Mustapha for facilitating the coming of the new members to PDP, assuring that he will work with him alongside his teeming supporters for the success of the ruling party in the state.

“Faruk Mustapha is a true politician who have many supporters even in my Alkaleri Local Government, since his coming to us, we are receiving a new members everywhere in solidarity of him, definitely we are going to give him the necessary support for our collective victory.”

PDP Chairman in the State, Hamza Koshe Akuyam promised that the new members would be given opportunity to contribute their quota to the growth of the party in Bauchi State.

Faruk Mustapha assured governor Bala that all his supporters in his former party, APC will join the PDP ahead of the 2023 general election for the victory of the governor and the candidates of the party against candidates of other opposition parties in the state.

“I want to express my gratitude to my supporters in APC for finding it worthy to join me in PDP, this is a great honor for me and we are going to work as a team to deliver for His Excellency, Senator Bala Mohammed in his 2023 reelection bid.”

Some of the decampees who spoke to newsmen cited their loyalty to Faruk Mustapha and Governor Bala Mohammed’s various developmental projects as some of the reasons for their defection from APC to PDP and declared to mobilize support for PDP’s victory.
