Hoodlums reportedly attack Osun first lady’s convoy

The convoy of Osun State first lady, Mrs Kafayat Adegboyega Oyetola was on Friday attacked by suspected hoodlums in the State.

She was attacked at Owode area, Ede town, which is also the hometown of Ademola Adeleke who defeated the incumbent governor.

Change of Name

Ademola Adeleke contested governorship on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against the incumbent, Adegboyega Oyetola and defeated him.

Reports from the scene of the incident said, the first lady was on her way to Osogbo, when there was sudden gunshots around Owode market in the night at about 8pm.

A resident revealed on Saturday that a truck had caused a traffic obstruction when the convoy arrived at the Owode market crossroads.

“It was while trying to make the truck driver to move that altercation ensued between security men attached to the convoy. I heard several gunshots where I stood near the junction. It was dark but there was altercation between security men and some people suspected to be hoodlums,” he said.

The gunshots resulted to people scampering for safety.
