Abducted Nasarawa Commissioner, Yakubu freed – Police
The Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Lawal Yakubu who was abducted on Monday has been released.
Nasarawa State Police Command on Friday confirmed the release of the Commissioner after five days in kidnappers’ den.
In a telephone conversation with journalists, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel said the the victim was released out of pressure by the combined team of security agents.
He said, the Commissioner was being examined at a private hospital before he would reunite with his family.
Nansel also noted that security surveillance had been intensified in Nasarawa Eggon local government area following increased insecurity in the area.
Recall that Nasarawa Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism Alhaji Yakubu Lawal was kidnapped by unknown gunmen last Monday at about 9:45pm at his residence in Nasarawa Eggon local government area of the State.
