A source who identified himself as
Mohammed Abubakar while speaking with our correspondent in Kaduna on Friday explained that, “all those hustling to eke out a living around NITEL quarters in Kaduna North have been facing harassment from the government controlled vigilantes.

According to him, one Mrs Fati Tuge whose house is close to the area and who belongs to Uba Sani’s camp got them arrested and are currently in Police station in the metropolis.

He said: “As I speak with you, we are in Police station and we don’t know what they will tell us yet.

“Senator Uba is a government candidate, and government didn’t want us to survive even after they sacked our brothers and some of our sisters from service.

“We are all hawking here to survive and local vigilantes would always come to harass us and they are treating us as if we are not Nigerians.

“Remember that votes from Kaduna North is the highest of all the Senatorial districts, but they are treating us as second class citizens”, Abubakar lamented.

Asked if they were involved in the alleged destruction of billboard, he denied and exonerated those hawking petrol around NITEL quarters, adding that they would not know as the billboard may not have been destroyed during the day time.

Our correspondent in Kaduna could not reach Senator Uba Sani, while the complainant, Fati Tuge declined speaking with our correspondent.
