Kidnappers of Nasarawa Commissioner reduce ransom from N100 million to N20 million
Kidnappers of Nasarawa State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Lawal Yakubu have placed their ransom demand at N20 million before releasing their victim.
CAPITAL POST earlier reported that the Commissioner was abducted from his residence in Nasarawa Eggon, headquarters of the Local Government on Monday night.
Two days earlier before abduction of the Commissioner, unknown gunmen stormed the staff quarters of the Government Science Secondary School, and gunned down a man identifies as Auta Nasela, while another person was seriously injured, all in Nasarawa Eggon.
A family source disclosed on Thursday that kidnappers called them at about 10.30am after four days and demanded for a N100 million ransom, but pleaded with them for N4.5 million which they rejected vehemently and angrily offed the phone.
They slashed their demand to N20 million.
He said: “On Thursday at precisely 10:30am, the kidnappers called the family members and reduced the ransom from N100,000,000 to N20,000,000.”
