As crisis rocking the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lingers, the governor Nyesom Wike’s camp claimed that the resignation letter of Dr Iorchia Ayu has been with Senator David Mark before the presidential primary election.

The camp urged David Mark to open up and release the letter to the whole world to see, saying that the National Chairman promised to resign from office, if a northerner like himself emerged as PDP presidential candidate in the 2023 general election.

The supporters of Wike made the demand over the weekend, insisting that Ayu’s resignation would be a condition precedent to resolving the crisis.

A source from Wike’s camp told journalists over the weekend, alleging that Ayu had already signed a resignation letter which has been in the custody of Senator David Mark.

“The National Chairman and David Mark are delaying the peace process and they know it. David Mark should speak out”, the source who is a former member of the national Working Committee maintained.

“What is Ayu bringing to help Atiku? He should resign if he has honour. After all, he signed the resignation letter that he will resign if the presidential candidate comes from the north.

“Wike lost the presidential ticket and the running mate position. He is asking for the office of the national chairman. If Atiku is sincere, he should allow Ayu to go.

He advised the Presidential flagbearer to appoint Dr Iorchia Ayu as his Chief of Staff, if he wants.
