BREAKING: Lafia LG bans commercial motorcycle operation between 8pm to 6am
The authority of Lafia Local Government Council has announced the banning of activities of commercial motorcycles in the locality between 8pm to 6am.
This was disclosed by the Council Chairman, Hon. Amínu Muazu Maifata at an emergency security meeting with security operatives, overseers of Development Areas of Lafia East and North, stakeholders, and traditional rulers with a view to check the menace of insecurity in the metropolis.
He further explained that the meeting resolved that from, July 30, 2022, activities of commercial motorcycles is here by banned until further notice.
“The meeting also agreed that all activities of tricycles will begin from 6am and terminated by 10pm until security challenge improves.
In a related development, residents of Local Government commended, the Council chairman’s move to curtail insecurity which has become a source of concern to them in time past.
Our correspondent report that the authority’s decision came up few days after a female lecturer with Federal University, Lafia was kidnapped alongside two others in her home on Shingye road.
As at the time of going to the press, her whereabouts is yet to be known, even as her captors have not called.
