Kaduna APC crisis: El-Rufai’s ex-aide resigns membership
As crisis in the All Progressives Congress, APC, Kaduna State continue to fester, a former Special Adviser, Internal Security and Coordinator, Operation Yaki, Hon. Yakubu Yusuf Soja has resigned from the party.
In a letter dated 23rd July, 2022 which he addressed to the Chairman of his ward in Zaria Local Government Council of Kaduna State, the Chieftain of the APC cited the “lack of principles” in APC as reasons he tendered his resignation.
According to him, he revealed that he has consulted with his party supporters and based on their wise counsel, it was better for him to resign.
A copy of the acknowledgement letter which was signed by the Chairman of APC Tukur-Tukur ward, Umoru Sule showed that the letter was delivered that same day, 23rd July, 2022.
Part of the letter read: “After making thorough consultation with my supporters and well-wishers, I have come to conclusion to tender my resignation because the principles for which I joined APC are sadly no longer there.”
CAPITAL POST recalled that the Kaduna chapter of APC has been riddled with crisis with which notable members of the party have defected.
The latest of the crisis threatening the lifeline of APC in the State was the emergence of Senator Uba Sani as the flagbearer in the 2023 general election in a controversial circumstances.
His emergence has been a subject of litigation by the aggrieved aspirants, who felt that the primary election was not free and fair, hence, series of petitions have been written to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the APC headquarters, citing irregularities.
