PDP lawmaker assassinated in Adamawa

A lawmaker representing Gudu Mboi ward in Song Local Government Council of Adamawa State, Hon Ishaya Bakano was shot dead in the early hours of Saturday by suspected gunmen.

The late lawmaker was the Deputy Leader of Song Local Government Legislative Council and was popular.

The assailants reportedly broke into his house at Bannga in the early hours of Saturday and snuffed life out of him.

A family source also revealed that the gunmen also shot his son, but is receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital.

The incident has been confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, and added that the security agents have been mobilised into action to ensure the culprits are arrested.
