Buhari’s gov’t secretly approves petrol pump price hike to N179/litre

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) on the order of President Muhammadu Buhari approve a Petroleum pump price of N179 per litre.

The increase in pump price, of Petroleum, otherwise known as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) has been conveyed to fuel marketers.

Change of Name

The last price, fuel was being sold is N165 per litre with a difference of N4.00 per litre and it is to take effect from today.

In a notice to fuel marketers by the NNPC, they have been asked to change the pump price immediately, even as the company equally increased the ex-depot price from N148.17 to N167 per litre.

This came after weeks of petrol scarcity resurfaced across the country as fuel retailers were adopting different price bands to force unofficial deregulation attempts.
