Oyetola’s defeat: Tweeter users predict Uzodinma’s downfall in 2023

Saturday’s governorship poll in Osun State which led to the defeat of governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) having polled 375,027 votes behind Senator Ademola Adeleke of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (APC) with 403,371 has inspired Tweeters to predict that Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma would be the next person to be defeated.

CAPITAL POST recalled that Uzodinma was pronounced governor by the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State was keenly contested by the PDP and APC alongside other minor political parties.

Several Tweet users welcome the defeat of Oyetola and wished the governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State should suffer the same fate.

In a some posts observed by CAPITAL POST, some said, Imo State need deliverance, while others wrote that Uzodinma should be voted out; Imo need cleanup etc.

“Just like Oyetola, Uzodimma was declared governor of Imo in 2020 by the Supreme court despite coming fourth in the 2019 state election.

Dear Imo state, when election reach, please un-sit HOPE UZODINMA. #OsunDecides2022,” @chibueze_nwaka pleaded.

A Tweeter identified as @mecca000000, said, “Uzodimma of Imo state that must be voted out of the government house. It’s cleanup time.”

A tweeter, @oswald_philemon, said, “Osun: Gov.Hope Uzodimma should be bracing up to leave, come next election”

“Hope Uzodinma is next to join Oyetola as a one-term Governor.Every stolen mandate the people shall reclaim. There is hope for ndi Imo state,” @trueimageng tweeted.

@marx_onyeka said, “Next is Hope Uzodinma — he will be disgraced out of the Imo state government house!”

“Please, deliverance is highly needed in Imo state. Hope Uzodinma has been a bad leader and never for once, guided in the right path as his name supposedly means. It is time for every bad government to evacuate and let the competent individua(s) do the job of the people.

Listing some other governors to be removed, @Torholu tweeted, “The people seem to have increased the standard of governance. Oyetola – out

“The following Governors and their parties should be next in line to be kicked out:

“Dapo Abiodun, Ogun State; Okezie Ikpeazu, Abia State; Hope Uzodimma, Imo State; Rotimi Akeredolu, Ondo State.”

However, @laviv418 declared support for Uzodimma, saying, “First win after a long time for PDP and they are already gloating all trending that Hope Uzodinma will be next.

“Need I remind them that APC won all the 3 elections in Imo since his tenure. He will win his re-election! #Imo.”
