UK University award honorary ‘Doctor of Music’ degree to Tiwa Savage

The University of Kent, United Kingdom has given Afrobeats songstress an honorary doctorate degree in music.

The UK varsity on July 5 announced its intention to honour some of its alumni, including Tiwa Savage, who graduated with a degree in Business Administration for her outstanding and inspirational performances in the music industry.

The award-winning singer was awarded “Doctor in Music” with the varsity sharing the picture of the event, which took place at the Canterbury Cathedral on its Twitter handle.

“Congratulations Dr @TiwaSavage! We’re super proud to have awarded the Queen of Afrobeats an honorary doctorate at Canterbury Cathedral this morning. #MadeInKent #KentGrads,” the university tweeted.
