He became stupendously wealthy through gun running and kidnap operations and was living large in Taraba before he got arrested.
He was undergoing criminal prosecution at a Federal High Court and was remanded in Kuje Custodial Centre since 2020, until he escaped from the facility.
CAPITAL POST recalled that Hamisu’s last operation before he was arrested in Taraba was when the IRT operatives
operatives came under heavy firing by soldiers of 93 Battalion, Takum, in Taraba state, killing three police officers and one civilian staff.
The soldiers who also rescued Wadume, from the IRT operatives were said to have carried out the operations on the orders of their commanding officer, Major Balarabe.
The killing of the police officers drew condemnation from the public. The suspects was later rearrested by the operatives at Kano and brought to Abuja, and charged to court, where he was remanded in prison custody.
