Two police officers arrested after communicating with escapee terrorists
Two police officers have been arrested for communicating with some escapee terrorists from Kuje Custodial Centre.
The officers’ communication with some fleeing terrorists were intercepted, hence, there seems to be compromise.
The police officers have immediately been detained for further interrogation, according to a source who told CAPITAL POST on Thursday.
On Tuesday, terrorists stormed Kuje prison at about 10.30 pm detonated bombs and engaged in sporadic shootings to get their members out of Custodial Centre.
This was initially thought to be Boko Haram fighters, until ISWAP on Thursday released video showing footage of their fighters in action while they claimed responsibility.
The source said: “Two of the terrorists that escaped called a police investigation officer (IPO) in one of our stations and spoke to him in a compromising manner…They are now being investigated to know their level of complicity,” he said.
