BREAKING: Ekweremadu wins as UK Court rules ‘kidney donor’ not a minor

Reprieve may have come the way of the embattled former Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice as the Westminster Magistrate Court in the United Kingdom on Thursday ruled that David Ukpo, a purported kidney donor wasn’t a minor.

Court ruling follows the appearance of Ekweremadu with his wife on Thursday for trial.

The couple who are Nigerian citizens were detained over alleged “organ harvesting” for their sick daughter, Sonia Ekweremadu.

The former Deputy Senate President representing Enugu West and his wife are facing charges bordering on conspiracy to arrange/facilitate the travel of another person with a view to exploitation, namely organ harvesting.

The purported kidney donor, Mr David Ukpo has earlier claimed that it was against his will to donate his kidney, claiming that he was never told.
