BREAKING: ISWAP terrorists claim attacking Kuje prison, mocks FG in video
As reactions continue to trail Tuesday’s terrorists attack on Kuje prison, fighters of Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP), has claimed responsibility.
The Islamic sect known to have been operating in Borno, North Eastern Nigeria have in a 38 second video shown his fighters in action.
The release of video late Wednesday was at the backdrop of the beliefs in the media that attackers that left over 800 detained terrorists and other criminal free was orchestrated by the Boko Haram.
The Kuje facility was housing criminals and other high profile Nigerians, thus when terrorists stormed the Correctional Centre late Tuesday, it was panic in Kuje through out the night as reasons for the attack was not immediately known.
In a footage of the video on Wednesday night, the terrorist sect showed some of its men shooting their way into the facility.
ISWAP fighters in their numbers were seen marching in groups while vehicles parked in the premises and building were on fire.
A particular elder dressed in traditional attire could be seen in the video joined other standby people shouting while the operation lasts.
The Islamic State’s A’maq Agency released the video with the caption written in Arabic said: “Fighters of Islamic State attacked Kuje prison in Abuja yesterday and succeeded in freeing dozens of prisoners.”
