In an announcement which was sighted by CAPITAL POST on NCC’s group WhatsApp, Dr Ikechukwu Adinde who is the Director of Public Affairs of the Commission for the past two years has been redeployed to Special Duties.
Also, a veteran Information and Communication Technology (ICT) journalist and Public Relations practitioner, Mr Reuben Muoka, who serves as Director, Special Duties Department, takes over from Dr Adinde as Director of Public Affairs.
Mr Muoka had previously worked as principal officer in the department during the tenure of Engineer Ernest Ndukwe, hence, he is conversant with the department, before he was redeployed to the Department of Economic Policy and Analysis when Prof. Umar Danbatta first assumed duty as EVC.
Before joining NCC some 19 years ago, Muoka worked with the Vanguard, where he and Okoh Aihe, who recently retired from the NCC, ran the paper Hi-Tech pages and reported ICT for several years.
He left Vanguard to work at MTS First Mobile, a pioneer company in mobile communication in Nigeria, as Corporate Affairs Manager.
Reuben Muoka has first and second degrees in Mass Communication. He was once chairman of the League of Communications Correspondence, a beat association created in 1988 to help ICT journalists become professional ICT reporters.
While Mr Omoniyi Ibietan remains the Head of NCC’s Online Media, Mrs Ujunwa Ichoku, Senior Officer, Online Media Relations, is now the frontline liaison officer of the NCC’s Online Media Partners.
