The Clergy, Rt. Reverend Dennis Mark, Bishop of Imo State Methodist Diocese and the Prelates chaplain were on Sunday 29th May, 2022 kidnapped in Umunneochi Local Government Area (LGA) of Abia State.

After regaining their freedom, his Eminence identified his abductors as Fulani and also suspected some soldiers as accomplices.

In his explanation to journalists at the time, he said: “But the irony of it, where they were situated, the soldiers all of Fulani extraction, Nigerian soldiers, They were there at Lomara junction and these boys were going behind them. Meanwhile they kept their cows somewhere, numbering about 200.”

It was confirmed that some abductors have been arrested and are currently opening up on what transpired to the Police from Zone 9 headquarters, Umuahia, Abia State.

The nabbed kidnapper was said to have made confessions during interrogation that implicated two serving soldiers. The accused were immediately moved to Abuja for detailed investigation.
