Popular White garment Church changes name, uniform
Our Lord’s Sabbath Mission, a Church known for compulsory wearing of white uniform by the congregants has changed its name to ‘Our Lord the Saviour Covenant Church’.
The General Overseer, Rev. Chigozie Nwaka, who announced the change also disclosed that compulsory wearing of the white garment during worship and services has been abolished.
Rev. Nwaka, reveals the development at the church’s yearly Feast of Pentecost which was held last week, said: “The change is the hallmark of the transformation, which the church has undergone under his watch as the priest these years.”
The overseer noted that all transactions in the former name remains valid, but warned that anyone who illegally use the former name for unauthorized transactions would be handed over to the security agents for prosecution.
He said: “Compulsory wearing of
white garments for worship ceases”.
“Other ritual laws of the Tabernacle will be put in their right perspective to reflect the leading of the Holy Spirit.”
Other identities that defined the church before now, Nwaka stated, will continue to undergo changes under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
