A Petrol tanker on Sunday evening fell off the road in Ganaja village of Kogi State leading to burning of some residential buildings, while several shops were also burnt beyond recognition.
Our Correspondent gathered that the ill-fated tanker didn’t catch fire immediately, until few hours, when residents around the area began to scoop fuel which was leaking from the tank,
The report said, somebody lit a cigarette nearby and it immediately ignited the fire outbreak, a resident who pleaded anonymous told our correspondent on Sunday night.
Though, no human loss was reportedly, the was blocked to enable fire fighters put off the fire.
Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps as.well as other sister security agents were on ground to ensure the fire was put off accordingly.
